This is the Wichita Lineman by Josey Packard out of my hometown Boston and I gotta say I'm proud. First words out of my mouth after trying it were "oh shit thats good".
1oz Bourbon (I use Buffalo Trace Whiskey)
1oz Aperol
1oz Pineapple Juice
.5oz Lemon Juice
Shake and strain. Top with cava and garnish with pineapple fronds.
According to the book Josey named this drink after Carol Kaye, a lifelong session musician who played bass on more than 10,000 songs in her career, including"Wichita Lineman"by Glenn Campbell, "you lost that lovin feelin" by The Righteous Brothers and Sonny and Cher's "I've got you babe".
