Nose: initially wood and peat smoke, a little airtime and it becomes wood and grapes with grapeskin, a little more time and it becomes peat, grass, seaweed, vines, mostly green vegetation. There are hints of metal here and there, something akin to copper, nickel, maybe brass?

Palate: initial taste is water, then it becomes wood, some peat, sugar cubes, the back palate has peated white sugar but intensity varies from sip to sip. Good body.

Finish: moderate, a sort of metallic wood aftertaste, aromas of peat. After a few sips a slight abv spice/numbness.

The aromas were all over the place and changed significantly with time, starting more intense and then getting more diverse and vegetative. Such a time dependent dram, revolves around wood, metal, and peat, but at different phases and with varying intensities. Overall a little sweet, but I appreciate the performance.

Grade: C+
